Beyoncé wins first Emmy for halftime show, adding shine to her stellar awards streak
Beyoncé won her first Emmy award on Tuesday for her 2024 Christmas Day halftime show.
The singer has amassed 35 Grammys throughout her career. She has also been previously nominated for an Emmy 10 times.
She was listed along with several other names involved in Netflix's Beyoncé Bowl, which won in the outstanding costumes for a variety, nonfiction, or reality show category, according to AP.
The halftime show took place in her hometown during the NFL game between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans.
The performance featured songs from her latest country album, Cowboy Carter.
The singer is also nominated for best variety special as a producer of and best direction of a variety special.
According to Deadline, the Television Academy announced the first winners of the 77th Emmy Awards in juried categories on 12 August. Categories that were honoured include animation, costume, emerging media programming and motion design.
Netflix's Love, Death + Robots was honoured with four awards, and their animated Arcane series won two.
This is ahead of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards from 6 to 7 September.
Beyoncé's husband, rapper Jay Z, is also nominated for an Emmy for being an executive producer of Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl halftime show, which took place this year.
